“Free CeCe” Street Art + What Now? How Can We Help?

Is anyone else exhausted by this pageant b.s.? The word “transgender” is being used more widely in conjunction with Donald Trump right now, on the internet and elsewhere, than with the stories of those most vulnerable who are being systematically ignored, violated, and imprisoned.

Lets rise up, people. We need to free CeCe McDonald. We’ve collected a gallery of “Free CeCe” vandal art, a significant portion of which was perpetrated by gender warrior, Leslie Feinberg on the Hennepin County Public Safety Facility where CeCe is being housed.

But beyond graffiti, what’s next? How can we help CeCe?

Below are some solid ways to help CeCe, as recommended by her support community.

*Write letters & send books to CeCe in prison to show her your love.

*Start a CeCe Support Committee in your area!

*Organize a contingent in your local PRIDE Parade to carry signs of support and hand out flyers telling folks about her case.

*Organize a fundraiser for CeCe. It cost a lot to survive in prison. She needs money for commissary, phone calls, writing materials and to fund trips for her family and supporters to visit her.

*Donate directly to her. This is a link to the only official CeCe McDonald donation site. (Or you can go to her website & there’s a link there. www.supportcece.wordpress.com)

* Contact  Trans/gender Identity Media Advocacy  to report inaccurate reporting of CeCe’s story, email TIMA at transmediaadvocacy@gmail.com.
