Utopia Strategy: A Poetic Response to Assimilation

i wrote this pantoum about this dichotomy i’m feeling about of course never wanting to deal with assimilationists while relating to queer and trans icons (whatever) that i perceive to have real different narratives and lived experience than me

utopia strategy

saying i won’t dream of it
i won’t have dreams
then my trauma, flowers, and prsvrnc
they will negate a soft love of my life

i won’t have dreams
when i’m truly not sorry for problems
