Transgender Woman Abused By NYPD Files Lawsuit
**trigger alert**
A transgender woman alleges she was chained to a New York City police station wall for 28 hours, deliberately six feet in front of the cismale holding tank, so that she could be taunted and humiliated by NYC police and other inmates.
Temmie Breslauer has filed a lawsuit against New York City and several of the officers who chained her to the wall after she was arrested in the subway last month for “illegally using her father’s discount fare card at the 125th Street subway station,” according to the lawsuit (below).
Immediately entering the station house, Breslauer claims she was asked by a desk sergeant whether she had a “penis or a vagina.” “Have you had the surgery DOWN THERE?” the desk sergeant asked. Breslauer presented the female-identified sergeant with a note from her doctor explaining that she is in the process of gender reassignment and should be “allowed access to facilities… appropriate to her gender identity.”
Apparently, the precinct disregarded Breslauer’s doctor note and “painfully chained (her) to a fence wherein, for no apparent reason, her arm was lifted over her head and attached to the fence to make it appear that she was raising her hand in the classroom. She sat there in that position for 28 hours.”
To make matters worse, the lawsuit claims Ms. Breslauer was taunted by officers who asked her if she “like(ed) to suck dick? Or what?” And ”Is it Halloween” “What are you supposed to be?” “Faggot,” ” Lady GaGa”, “Transvestite…”
Breslauer pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two days of community service.
