Gender-Variant Youth & Sexual Health

A group of young trans people (age 16–24) who have “been there, done that and bought the t-shirt” created a web-based booklet for the sexual health of  transgender youth.

“We noticed it was hard to find sexual health information that was respectful of trans people’s minds, bodies and identities,” the group writes on their website. “So, first we ran a workshop to decide what needed to be done and then we wrote this.”

The booklet is aimed at young trans people and their partners. And is only inclusive of trans specific health care. The language is wonderfully non-binary, though sometimes the authors found it necessary “to use specific words.” And where (they) couldn’t use gender neutral language, they stuck to medical terms.
