Dry Your Tears With Drag: A Queen’s Tribute to Whitney Houston
Legendary gay icon, Whitney Houston was found dead at 3:55 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 at a Beverly Hills hotel despite resuscitation efforts, a police spokesman said. She was 48 years old.
Evidence for her love of the gays was rumored to have blossomed when she was asked to perform at New York City’s gay pride festival in ’99. Here is her take on it in an interview with MTV.
Ms. Houston’s tunes put tips on the table for hundreds, if not hundreds of thousands of drag queens. She will be sorely missed. Below is a collection of her queerest songs as sung by some of her greatest fans.
