Trans Choir Teacher Fired For Moonlight Drag

SANTA FE, New Mexico — Cristina Cracraft, a transgender woman working as an elementary school choir and music teacher while moonlighting as a drag performer known as “Taffy Shalamar.” When a video of her performance was leaked,  Cracraft was forced to come to a settlement with the school district and resigned.

While school officials are not commenting on the settlement matter, Cracraft believes being pressured to resign is a big deal: “I think this is a woman’s rights issue. It’s a trans rights issue,” she says in the video.
