Calling All Gender-riffic Angelenos! Celebrate Community with Gender Justice L.A.
LOS ANGELES, C.A.– Gender Justice Los Angeles (GJLA) is hosting its third annual wild celebration/fund-raiser replete with fierce performances, dinner, and dance party on Friday, September 28th from 7 p.m. to midnight.
The event will be held at All Saints Event Hall at 5619 Monte Vista Street in Los Angeles. Tickets are $50 for dinner plus the party, GJLA is also offering $30 discounted tickets. It’s $15 for the party sans dinner.
“Support grassroots organizing by and for LA’s transgender community – let’s build our community and build our power together,” writes GJLA in their press release. “Eat, mingle, have fun, dance up the night, strut your stuff, and support the fight for transgender rights all in one great evening.”
GJLA promises that all funds raised will go to support trans justice and “to create a movement that can’t be stopped.”

Gender Justice LA (GJLA) is a Los Angeles based non-profit organization working to build the collective power of the transgender community. The group operates at several levels, including social justice at the local and national level, the group lobbies for access to affordable quality healthcare, comprehensive non-discrimination policies at the local, state, and national level, and individual engagement and access. It actively works to achieve a safe and just society for trans people of color through education and inclusion of trans people of color history, cross cultural dialogue and communication, breaking down oppresson across gender lines, space for alchemy and creation of ideas, identities, new ways of understanding, fostering and acquring leadership roles for trans peole of color, access to living wage jobs, and redistribution of wealth. Lastly, GJLA is committed to community wellness, spiritual inclusion of all faiths, including atheism, practicing non-violent methods of communication, community and self accountability, trans-centered family planning, practicing collective planning and thinking for our community.
