CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Transgender Emergency Survival Kit Art

CHICAGO, IL — Fiber artist and fabulist, Wolfie E. Rawk is putting out call out to other trans people for input on his “Transgender Emergency Survival Kit” art project.

“What would you put in your personal Transgender Emergency Survival Kit?” Asks Rawk, who suggests anything real or imaginary (Examples include: testosterone vial and syringe, Beyonce cd, fire, machine that automatically corrects mispronouning, a quote, etc…)

Rawk will create the submissions into either sculptural art or drawing. The survival kit will be on display from April 21-28th at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, 37 S. Wabash, 9th Fl. in the Fiber and Material Studies Department.

Submit a list of what you would include in the emergency kit, why (this part is optional), and how you would like to be credited, here. Participants are welcome to submit anonymously or with names for credit. Please note – submitted included first and last names will be google-able on the project’s website. Wolfie’s suggestion is to include first name and last initial as an option.

One Response to CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Transgender Emergency Survival Kit Art

  1. A quote – ” .I lived 49 years trying to
be good to everyone but the one person that truly matters – myself. It
was time that I support HER, even if no-one else does. After all, I’m
the ONLY one I know for a fact will be with me until my final day”
